Would be great to be able to keep multiple notes open at once
In Progress
Found noteaway when looking for a good "sticky note" app. There don't seem to be any but really like the noteaway design and would be great if it added that stick feature. For a given note add the ability to keep it open in a separate window (sticky note like) so for example I can have my todo list open and create or view other notes in the main window.
Thanks for considering this.
Thanks so much for your interest in NoteAway, and for taking the time to get in touch.
I agree that it could be nice to have NoteAway be able to open multiple notes in separate windows at one time, and it does follow logically that it could be nice to be able to have any of those windows stay visible when NoteAway is not active.
So, it is something that I will consider for the longer term evolution of NoteAway, but at this point it is not too high on my priorities. Other than minor tweaks for NoteAway, my highest priority is a NoteAway for iOS so that users can access their notes on iPhones and iPads.
Also, I created NoteAway to be a kind of note taking app that I felt didn't exist yet. I am hesitant to turn into a "catch-all" that encompasses all features of every possible kind of note taking app. I feel that NoteAway should do one kind of thing very well, which may not apply to all users... but it serves a purpose that I want, and I hope other users like me will find useful.
In fact, one of the main goals of NoteAway was actually to have to notes not be in your face all the time, hence the name. My intention was to have place where I could write stuff down quickly and then forget about it. But of course be able to easily get back to it when I wanted. Often just the act of writing a thought down allows me to remember it better, and move on with whatever other task I may have been working on without getting too distracted by other thoughts.
And, there are a variety of other sticky note type apps out there already, but I understand that not all of them are very great.
Anyway, I do think being able to open up multiple notes in separate windows could be a natural evolution for NoteAway, but it's not something I'm willing to commit to at this point, or to give any deadline for in the immediate future.
Thanks again for getting in touch, I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Hi Pico, thanks for the reply.
Sure, makes sense to work on ios first.
Perhaps fitting with your don't do everything and take notes and disappear philosophy would be to be able to open one or more notes when the note taker window is open. That is hit the hot key or click on the menu item to bring up your current window, plus N other windows the users has said should always pop open. That would work perfectly for me....

Yea, something like that is what I've been considering and has been requested by others.
Once I get around to actually writing the code and UI to open notes in separate windows, I'll play around with different stuff like this and see what I feels makes the most sense with usability, etc.
Thanks again for getting in touch!

Hi, any progress on this request? Would love to have "work todo" and "home todo" windows open at once and on my second screen. Thanks!

Sorry, no progress to report at this point. And I've got no timeline for it either. Been juggling a lot of things lately.
