Setup default media locations
Answered
I am rebuilding my iTunes library. I want to split my library across 2 external hard drives. I want to be able to set a location for my music folder on one drive and the location for Movies on a different folder. When I add music to iTunes I want the file to go the location I setup for the music folder on the first hard drive. When I add a movie I want it to go to the location I setup on the second hard drive. How can I do this?
Thanks for getting in touch.
I'm sorry to say that there is no way to set two separate iTunes Media locations for different media types from within iTunes. And, TuneSpan cannot change the normal behavior of iTunes.
The closest thing I can offer is the basic Automation features in TuneSpan...
When you add media to iTunes, it will always go to your single default iTunes media folder. But, then you can launch TuneSpan and it can, for example, automatically span any new movies to the Span Location that you specify. All you'll have to do it to remember to launch TuneSpan occasionally.
To configure automation in TuneSpan, click the little Script icon that's to the left of the Span button.
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
