Not sure how to recover from crashed disk - HELP

I've got most of the iTunes library on my home server on an external disk which was spanned using tunespan.
The external disk has failed, and Disk Utility says that the best I can do is try to copy as many files as I can and re-format the disk.
I'm not sure what to do to hook the copied files back up to iTunes. The TuneSpan documentation talks about recovering after TuneSpan itself crashes during a span, but it's unclear what to do in my situation.

If the drive is still available, the best option would be to Restore the files through TuneSpan, or if that's not possible, try to just get a backup before the drive fails completely.
