Media Location with "?" in front?

In the list of Media Locations on the right side window is an old location with a "?" in front of it. When I click on it it shows some old Podcasts that are no longer around. Is there a way to get rid of that location?

Thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like you're having the same issue as described in this thread: https://getsatisfaction.com/randomapp...

It's a bug with iTunes that some Podcasts can still be included in the XML file (which iTunes reads) even though they are no longer listed in the iTunes UI.

But, the Podcasts can still be deleted from iTunes with AppleScript. This is very easy to do if you don't have any other Podcasts in your library, then the AppleScript can just find and delete all Podcasts. But, if you have other Podcasts that you don't want to delete from iTunes the AppleScript will have to specifically delete the ones whose files no longer exist.

So, please let me know whether or not you have other Podcasts in iTunes that you'll want to save, and I can send you the AppleScript to solve this problem.

I DO have other podcasts. The "old" ones that don't exist anymore are Onion News Network (Video) podcasts.

What do you need from me to get this done?

I'll update the AppleScript that I have to delete Podcasts to check if the file exists for the tracks so that the script will only delete Podcasts whose files are missing.

When you run the script, you'll just need to be sure that all the other Podcasts you want to keep are currently available (i.e. not on an unmounted drive).

Please email me directly at http://contact.tunespan.com as I would rather not post AppleScript code on here that could be harmful to other users if misused or misunderstood.
