Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D136) - Itunes does not synchronize library to Iphone. Although I can play the songs from external drive in Itunes I cannot sync them. What could it be?

Thanks for getting in touch.

I'm not exactly sure what this could be. TuneSpan should not be affecting syncing at all.

What error are you getting from iTunes? Some screenshot of the issues you're seeing may help.

I did not span for a while - maybe to many Itunes updates caused the error. Spanned another track to external drive. Synching works now. Thanks for help.

Does not seem to be closed: Last night all of my tracks were synced from external device. This morning all of my tracks are gone on my Iphone. Are tracks deleted on Iphone when they cannot be accessed? Can I stop that?

https://getsatisfaction.com/randomapp... - what happens here when drive not plugged in and you re-sync your Iphone. Does it delete all tracks that are not accessible? How can I keep my tracks on the phone when the external drive is not accessible?

From my experiences in the past, I believe iTunes would ignore tracks whose files didn't exist and leave them on the iPhone. But, things may have changed in some update. Now, I use iTunes Match to keep my music on all my devices, so I'm not exactly sure.

But, either way, I'm not sure I can be of much help. I've got no control over how iTunes behaves. All TuneSpan can do is tell iTunes where the new file locations are, the rest is up to iTunes.

One possibility would be choosing to manually manage the music on your devices rather than letting iTunes auto sync. Here's info about that from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201593
