how to avoid spanned movies sync with ipad/iphone?

I was thrilled by the possibility of Tunespan to store movies on a removable disk, until I connected my Ipad and Itunes wanted to sync all the removalbe disk movies to the ipad. How can I avoid this because my Ipad has even less space than my computer

To modify what is synced to your iPad, you can adjust it through iTunes as normal.
TuneSpan does not affect your sync settings.
When your iPad is plugged in, view the device in iTunes, go to the Movies tab, and change what videos you have syncing.
