How do I move my spanned library to a new Mac?
Need Answer
I have my music files on the hard drive of my computer but have my TV shows on a separate hard drive. Now I will reinstall the operating system again on my computer staring all over again.
What do I do with iTunes then?
I will copy the music files back onto the hard drive of my computer and iTunes should use them then. But what about the TV shows which are on a separate hard drive?
Is there a way iTunes will memorize that these files are spanned? Can I maybe copy the iTunes library data file that tells iTunes where the files are exactly?
Thanks for getting in touch. I'm sorry for my very late reply.
Have you since reinstalled the OS on your computer? Where do things stand now?
It should be pretty simple to just migrate your iTunes Library to the new installation normally and then use TuneSpan to basically re-span the missing TV Shows to where you know the files are on your external drive.
