iTune Movie Extra Files (.ite) not spanning automatically with associated movies

Known

I am using the latest version of TuneSpan (1.1) with both existing and newly downloaded HD and standard movies on my internal HD. I am leaving the music on the original internal HD. When I span the movies to the external drive, the iTunes Extra file (.ite) does not copy at the same time. I have to manually copy the file over and delete it from the original folder.

Can you advise how I get TuneSpan to recognize the .ite files associated with relevant iTune movies...Thanks for the great product.

Thank you for getting in touch.

I'm sorry to say that TuneSpan cannot span iTunes Extra files, as well as a few others. I have this information in the info on the Mac App Store, and http://tunespan.com

---------------------------

IS THERE ANYTHING TUNESPAN CAN'T SPAN?

Unfortunately, TuneSpan can't span files that aren't included in the readable XML iTunes Library file. TuneSpan has no access to the following files; they are left untouched and unchanged:

Mobile Apps, Rented Movies, Ring Tones, Text-Based Books, iTunes LPs, and iTunes Extras

Also, for SD and HD versions of a video, only one at a time can be spanned (the one that's currently selected in iTunes).

---------------------------

This is because of an issue in the XML file that TuneSpan and all other 3rd party apps rely on to get iTunes Library info, its a decision made by Apple to not include those listings, and I can't do anything about this.

Unfortunately, I don't think simply copying the ITE file to be with the spanned media and deleting the original will work. The location still needs to be updated in iTunes, which TuneSpan automates in the spanning process.

Try playing the ITE file that you've manually moved in iTunes to see if iTunes finds it. I believe it will not be able to locate it. If you could manually copy files to an external drive and have iTunes follow that path, TuneSpan would not be necessary. But, it shouldn't be hard to manually locate that new file location through iTunes.

Sorry I can't offer anything better, this is one of those things that is just out of my control. I hope you understand.

Thanks so much for using TuneSpan!
