Need Answer

I have a new mac that replaces a dead one that had my itunes library on it. Will TuneSpan span my iphone library as another device and share with my new itunes library on new mac that has almost nothing on it.?

Will it also span other iphones and possibly computers?

Thanks for getting in touch. But, I'm sorry to say that this is not what TuneSpan was made to help with.

TuneSpan is made to allow you to move around the media files that already exist in your iTunes Library to other locations, such as external drives, while keeping everything looking the same in iTunes.

To extract media from an iPhone or iPod, you'll need some app like Senuti (https://www.fadingred.com/senuti/) or iRip (http://thelittleappfactory.com/irip/) or whatever other apps are out there to do that job.

To merge and combine multiple iTunes Libraries, you could check out PowerTunes (http://fatcatsoftware.com/powertunes/) but I'm not sure how or if that handles different libraries on different computers.

Hope that info helps you on your way. Sorry your computer died, I know how that goes :-/

The most important thing from this point on is to make sure you've got some solid backup software running. I use Time Machine myself for full offline backup as well as Arq (https://www.arqbackup.com) in combination with DreamObjects from DreamHost (https://www.dreamhost.com/cloud/storage/) for selective online backup.
