How can I hide the non-existence music in iTunes

I have a big library in my PC.

Then, I move the library to my MacBook Air and Span all the musics to a external drive exclude just some musics I really love.

But when I launch the iTunes without external drive plug-in, the Spanned file still exist.

I really want it hide unless I plug-in my external drive.

How can I do it?

Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch.

I'm sorry to say this is something that is not possible. There's no way that TuneSpan can affect what is visible in the whole iTunes Library.

TuneSpan does have a feature where you can create "Locations Playlists" in iTunes, but it's not a highly advertised feature because I have found it to be a bit flakey with iTunes Match previously, and still flakey with iCloud Music Library. When the Library syncs, it tends to duplicate the playlists folders and they loose their structure. I don't really understand it, things work fine when not using any iTunes syncing features.

Anyway, this "Create Locations Playlist" feature is still in TuneSpan in the File > Tools for iTunes menu. Once you run the Create Locations Playlist tool once, TuneSpan will continue to update the playlists after you span or restore anything. You can turn this off in the Advanced TuneSpan Preferences if you want to delete the Locations Playlists though.

That's really the best I can offer with TuneSpan. The only other option would be switch to managing multiple libraries which has it own set of complexities and downfalls. If that's something your interested in though, you can check out PowerTunes: http://fatcatsoftware.com/powertunes/
